Hibberdene

Hibberdene , some 70km south of Durban, is the Lower South Coast's first point of access from the N2 motorway and as such has become a popular holiday destination with an excellent sandy beach which holds coveted ‘'blue flag'' status. Because of its location Hibberdene has also developed into a busy shopping centre. The lagoon at the mouth of the Mzimayi river allows children to paddle around or mess about in boats in perfect safety and for rock and surf anglers there are a number of rocky outcrops which provide good sport in season. Proposals for the construction of a marina have been under consideration for some time.
